Gardaí have launched a witness appeal following a fatal single-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a man in his 60s on the road between Leap and Drinagh this morning.

The collision occurred in the Corran Middle area of West Cork between 10:30am and 11:30am on Monday, 22 September. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, with no other injuries reported.

The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions have been put in place to manage traffic flow around the closure.

Investigating Gardaí are making a particular appeal to road users who may have been travelling through the area during the hour-long window when the collision occurred.
