Fatal Collision Claims Life of Driver in Ballycotton
Fatal collision on L3633 Church Road, Ballycotton claims life of male driver this afternoon. Road closed for investigation.

A male driver in his 40s has died following a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle in Ballycotton this afternoon.
The incident occurred on the L3633 Church Road at approximately 3:30pm today, Thursday 18th September 2025. Emergency services attended the scene where the driver was pronounced deceased.
The victim's body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place. The Health and Safety Authority was notified of the incident and attended the scene alongside Gardaí and other emergency services.
The L3633 Church Road remains closed to traffic while Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes until further notice.
Gardaí have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward. Investigators are particularly keen to speak with anyone who travelled through the area between 3:00pm and 3:45pm today and may have dashcam footage or other camera footage of the incident.
The collision marks another tragic reminder of the importance of road safety on Cork's local road network. The L3633 Church Road serves as a key route for both local traffic and commercial vehicles accessing the coastal area.
