Fairhill Water Outage Planned for Friday as Uisce Éireann Carries Out Essential Repairs
Fairhill water outage Friday 19 December, 8am to 5pm, for essential repairs. Surrounding areas may be affected.
Customers in parts of Cork City may experience water supply disruptions tomorrow as Uisce Éireann undertakes essential repair works to the water network in Fairhill.
The planned outage will take place from 8am to 5pm on Friday, 19 December, affecting the Fairhill area and surrounding neighbourhoods.
The works are necessary to facilitate essential repairs to the water network infrastructure. Uisce Éireann has advised customers to prepare for potential supply disruptions during the nine-hour maintenance window.
James Goulding, Operations Manager at Uisce Éireann, said:
"We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works, and we would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation."
Customers may experience discoloured water when supply returns, as sediment can become dislodged from older cast iron pipes during network activity. Running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes should restore the water to a clear colour.
If discolouration persists, customers can contact Uisce Éireann's customer care team on 1800 278 278 or report it online. Further information on managing water supply issues is available at water.ie/help/supply/after-an-outage.
Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Registration is available on the Vulnerable Customers page.
