€200,000 Available for Adult Financial Literacy Projects Across Ireland in 2026
€200k funding now available for adult financial literacy projects across Ireland in 2026.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has announced €200,000 in funding for adult financial literacy projects across Ireland next year, with applications now open for organisations working to improve money management skills in their communities.
The funding, announced yesterday, marks the second year of the CCPC's support for adult financial literacy initiatives under the €1 million Collaboration and Innovation Fund. The programme is designed to equip adults with essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and digital capability, enabling them to access and manage financial services with confidence.
The initiative supports Ireland's first National Financial Literacy Strategy, which was launched in February this year. The strategy includes targeted initiatives for adult financial literacy, particularly focusing on those most at risk, to help them budget, save, and manage money confidently.
Tánaiste and Minister for Finance, Simon Harris TD said:
"Following the success of the financial literacy stream in the 2025 Collaboration and Innovation Fund, I welcome the continuation of this important funding. It is through projects like these, delivered by so many dedicated organisations and individuals on the ground, that drive improvements in financial literacy for people across Ireland.
The Department of Finance's five-year National Financial Literacy Strategy's mission is to improve the level of financial literacy in Ireland by working with Ireland's vibrant financial literacy ecosystem, increasing cooperation, coordination and cohesion, and thereby increasing overall financial wellbeing and resilience."
Brian McHugh, Chair of the CCPC, said:
"The CCPC is committed to promoting and supporting financial education initiatives to help address Ireland's financial literacy gap. We're delighted to continue our partnership with SOLAS and the Adult Literacy for Life Office through the Collaboration and Innovation Fund.
Last year's initiatives demonstrated how innovative approaches and community-based projects can make a real difference in helping vulnerable communities to manage their money in practical ways, fully engage in society and realise their potential. We're committed to building on that success with even more innovative and impactful initiatives in 2026."
The fund represents a collaboration between the CCPC, SOLAS, and the Adult Literacy for Life Office. Organisations interested in applying for funding can find full details and application information at www.adultliteracyforlife.ie/fund.
