Eleven Road Closures and Stop/Go Systems to Affect Cork City from Monday
Eleven Cork City road closures and Stop/Go systems begin Monday, including full closures on Magazine and Blackrock Roads. Allow extra travel time.
Cork City Council has issued alerts for eleven separate road closures and Stop/Go traffic systems across the city, beginning Monday 10 August. Two full closures, on Magazine Road and Blackrock Road, will remain in place for up to five days.
The full list of works:
- Magazine Road: Closed between St Clare's Avenue and Highfield Avenue, 7am to 7pm, 10 to 14 August.
- Beaufort Park, Turners Cross: Closed between St Anne's Park and Curragh Road, 7am to 7pm, Monday 10 August.
- Tara Lawn/Glasheen Road: Four-way Stop/Go, 7am to 7pm, 10 to 14 August.
- R639 Knocknahorgan, Glanmire: Three-way Stop/Go, 7am to 7pm, 10 to 14 August.
- South Douglas Road/Curragh Road: Three-way Stop/Go, 7pm Monday to 7am Tuesday.
- Infirmary Road: Six-way Stop/Go overnight, 7pm to 7am, 10 to 14 August.
- Rochestown Road: Two-way Stop/Go between the Passage West Greenway car park and Hop Island, 7.30pm to 6am, 10 to 21 August.
- Togher Road/Lehenaghmore Industrial Estate: Five-way Stop/Go, 7am to 7pm, Monday 10 August.
- Cooney's Lane/Bellevue Park: Three-way Stop/Go, 8am to 4pm, 10 to 21 August.
- Upper Glanmire Road, Ballinvriskig: Two-way Stop/Go outside Ros Ard Estate, 7am to 7pm, 10 to 14 August.
- Blackrock Road: Closed between Beaumont Drive and Church Road for footpath upgrades, 8am Monday to 5pm Friday.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time and use alternative routes where possible, particularly around Magazine Road and Blackrock Road, where full closures are in effect.
Note that works on Rochestown Road and Cooney's Lane/Bellevue Park continue through to 21 August, beyond the rest of this list.
