East Cork Lifeguards Team Up with Coast Guard and RNLI for Joint Training Session
East Cork lifeguards team up with Youghal Coast Guard & RNLI for vital joint training to keep our beaches safe this summer.

- East Cork Lifeguards have completed a joint training exercise with the Youghal Coast Guard and RNLI, bringing together three key emergency services in coordinated land and sea exercises.
The multi-agency training session focused on rescue simulations and inter-agency coordination, providing valuable experience for all personnel involved. The exercise aimed to strengthen the services' ability to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations, ensuring the safety of beachgoers and coastal water users.
Training took place both on land and at sea, allowing the three teams to practise working together in various scenarios. This type of collaborative training helps ensure smooth cooperation when multiple agencies need to respond to actual coastal emergencies.

The session demonstrated the strong working relationships between Cork's coastal emergency services, with each organisation bringing their specific expertise to the training exercise. Such joint exercises are considered essential for maintaining effective emergency response capabilities along the coast.
Representatives from the East Cork Lifeguards thanked both the Youghal Coast Guard and RNLI teams for their dedication, professionalism, and teamwork during the training session, describing it as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when emergency services work together.
The successful completion of this joint training provides reassurance that Cork's coastal emergency services are prepared to work as a coordinated unit when responding to incidents along the East Cork coastline.
