Consumers advised not to eat affected batches.
Dunnes Stores is recalling several batches of its own-brand sage due to the possible presence of large pieces of stalk and bark that could pose a choking hazard.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued the recall notice today, Tuesday, 18 November 2025, as a Category 1 alert requiring immediate action.
The recall affects Dunnes Stores Sage in 10g packs with the following batch codes: L25279228, L25280228, L25307228 and L25308228. All affected products have a best before date of June 2027 and were sourced from the United Kingdom.
The recall was issued due to the possible presence of large pieces of stalk and bark in the dried herb, which could pose a choking hazard to consumers.
Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in affected stores. Retailers have been requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display the recall notices.
Consumers who have purchased any of the affected batches are advised not to eat the sage.
