Drug and Cannabis Parcels Destined for Addresses Nationwide Found Among Almost €220,000 in Seized Contraband
Revenue seized contraband worth almost €220,000 in Dublin, the Midlands and Rosslare Europort, including drug parcels destined for addresses nationwide.
Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of almost €220,000 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort, with herbal cannabis and illicit drug parcels among the items destined for addresses nationwide.
The seizures took place in the week commencing 24 August 2026 and were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations.
The detections included 132 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €180,300, over 1.1kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of almost €22,400, and various illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €11,300. Officers also seized over 178 litres of alcohol, with an estimated value of over €2,800 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €1,800, along with tobacco products valued at over €2,800, representing a potential Exchequer loss of over €2,100.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Ciara. The parcels originated from the UK, the USA, Spain, India and Canada, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Seven weapons accessories, consisting of various fireworks, were also seized.
The alcohol seized consisted of wine, beer and spirits. The tobacco products were branded Silk Cut, Marlboro, L&B Blue, Amber Leaf, John Player, Hookah and Superking.
The illicit drugs recovered included cocaine, LSD, cannabinoid vape liquids, 5-MEO-DMT Freebase, DCK, 4CMC, 4-MPO, 2F-NENDCK HC1 [sic], zolpidem, zopiclone, cannabis oil, cannabis resin, edibles, hemp, reefers and assorted tablets.
The counterfeit goods were branded Adidas, Alo, Asics, Birkenstock, Boss, Burberry, Chanel, Coach, Dior, Fear of God, Canada Goose, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Moncler, New Balance, Nike, On Cloud, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent, Stanley, Tommy, Uggs, and Under Armour.
Investigations into all of the seizures are ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
