A free vehicle recovery service is operating around the clock on the M28 between Bloomfield Junction and Carrs Hill, helping to keep traffic moving while major upgrade works continue on the route.

The service is run by SOS Recovery as part of the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy project. It has been in place since the start of April and will remain for the duration of the roadworks between Carrs Hill and Bloomfield.

It is available to all vehicles, including cars, vans, and HGVs, and covers both breakdowns and collisions. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The purpose of the service is to remove any vehicle obstructing traffic and move it to a safe location, so the road can clear and traffic can get flowing again as quickly as possible. Drivers can then arrange their own onward recovery from there.

Motorists who break down or are involved in a collision on this stretch can contact SOS Recovery on 021 6010611 or 086 323 0790.

The M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy scheme involves upgrading the existing N28 to motorway standard. The route is the main link between Cork's southern suburbs and the port at Ringaskiddy, with works ongoing along the corridor.

Further information, including the live traffic camera feeds, is available on the official M28 website at m28.ie.
