Cruinniú na nÓg 2026: Free Creative Day for Cork's Young People This Saturday
Cruinniú na nÓg takes place this Saturday, 6 June across Cork City, with free creative events for children and young people up to age 18.
Cork City is gearing up for Cruinniú na nÓg, Ireland's national day of free creative activity for children and young people, taking place this Saturday, 6 June across the city.
Families are being encouraged to plan their day and make the most of a wide programme of free, hands-on events designed for children and young people aged 0 to 18. Activities span music, art, dance, drama, storytelling, circus, digital creativity and STEAM, giving young people the chance to create, explore and express themselves in their own communities.
Many events have been designed with children and young people's input, with particular care taken to ensure activities are accessible and inclusive, welcoming children with disabilities, seldom-heard young people, and families from diverse backgrounds.
Alex Millea (17), Cruinniú na nÓg local youth ambassador, said:
"One of the best things about Cruinniú na nÓg is that all the events, workshops and performances are completely free and easy for young people to access. That gives us motivation and confidence to join in and try something new. Cruinniú na nÓg also gives young people a chance to share our creativity and talents with our own communities, and I'm really looking forward to performing in drag on the day."
Events will take place in libraries, parks, and arts and cultural venues across the city, with many drop-in activities available throughout the day. Some workshops may have limited capacity, so families are advised to check listings in advance.
Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative of Creative Ireland, delivered in partnership with local authorities and community organisations nationwide.
