Cork Gardaí Seize Cannabis Worth Over €33,000 in City Drug Operation

Gardaí in Cork have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €33,480 following a series of targeted searches across the city on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers from the Cork City Drugs Unit stopped and searched a vehicle on the northside of the city at approximately 4pm, discovering cannabis worth an estimated €12,680. A subsequent search under warrant at a domestic residence led to the discovery of additional cannabis valued at approximately €20,800, along with other unspecified items related to drug trafficking.
Four males have been arrested in connection with the seizures, including one man in his 20s and three youths in their late teens. All four individuals have been transported to Garda stations in Cork city where they are currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act), 1996.
The seized substances will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for detailed analysis to confirm their composition and exact value.
The operation forms part of an ongoing Garda initiative targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Cork city area.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations into the matter are continuing.
