Cork County Council Launches Practical Guides for Residents' Associations
Cork County Council has launched a new Residents' Association Quick Guide and Handbook to help community groups across the county.
Cork County Council has launched two new resources to help community groups across the county: a Residents' Association Quick Guide and a more detailed Residents' Association Handbook. Both have been developed by the Social Inclusion, Community & Rural Development Strategic Policy Committee.
Residents' Associations play a vital role in building connected communities, and the new materials are designed to support both new and existing groups looking to make a greater impact locally.
The Quick Guide offers a clear and accessible introduction for anyone interested in getting involved, with straightforward steps on how to establish and run a Residents' Association. The Handbook builds on this, covering governance, committee roles, communications, meeting management, and how to access funding, with guidance on working constructively with Cork County Council and other stakeholders.
Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley, Mayor of the County of Cork, said:
"Residents' Associations are the backbone of strong, connected communities, and these new resources will empower local people across the county to come together, have their voices heard, and play an active role in shaping their neighbourhoods."
Both documents are now available to download on the Cork County Council website.
