Cork County Council Launches New Heritage Podcast Series

Cork County Council has unveiled Cork Chronicles, a new podcast series that promises to bring the county's rich heritage to life through stories ranging from the Titanic's final farewell in Cobh to hidden local tales that have shaped Cork's cultural identity.

The podcast, hosted by Creative Ireland Heritage Specialist in Residence Shannon Forde, aims to capture the authentic voices and memories that define County Cork's heritage. Each episode features conversations with local historians, heritage groups, and residents who share their expertise and personal connections to Cork's past.

The series launches with a particularly poignant episode exploring Cobh's connection to the Titanic, featuring Dr Michael Martin of the Titanic Trail. This first episode is now available on both Acast and Spotify, with new episodes set to release every Friday from 5th September.
