Cork County Council launches Cost Rental scheme in Carrigtwohill
Cork County Council is launching a Cost Rental scheme in Carrigtwohill, offering rents at least 28% below market rate. Applications open 18 May 2026.
Cork County Council has announced a new Cost Rental scheme at Baile Adaim, Carrigtwohill, with applications opening at 12 noon on Monday, 18th May 2026.
The scheme is aimed at people who do not own a home, are above the threshold for social housing, but have difficulty affording private rented accommodation. It is supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
The development comprises 12 newly built, A-rated homes, including one-bed apartments, two-bed duplexes, and three-bed semi-detached properties, located a short distance from Carrigtwohill town centre. Rents are at least 28% below private market rents in the area.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley said:
"Cork County Council is delighted to announce the launch of this Cost Rental Scheme in Carrigtwohill. The development at Baile Adaim is superbly situated in this popular residential area just a short distance from Carrigtwohill's town centre and all its amenities. This new scheme demonstrates the work that Cork County Council is doing in achieving the targets set by the government."
Applications will be accepted from 12 noon on Monday, 18th May 2026 until 12 noon on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026 via the online portal at corkcoco.ie. Homes will be allocated by lottery to eligible applicants who have submitted all required documents. Successful applicants will enter a tenancy arrangement with Cork County Council.
