Cork County Council has announced the launch of a new Cost Rental Scheme offering 17 newly built homes at Warrens Court, Barnahely, Ringaskiddy, with applications opening at 12 noon on Monday 29 June 2026.

The scheme is designed for people who do not own a home, are above the threshold for social housing but have difficulty affording private rented accommodation. All 17 A-rated homes are available at rents set at least 29% below private market rents in the area, providing a secure long-term tenancy option supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

The development includes one two-bedroom bungalow, five two-bedroom mid-terrace houses, and 11 three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached houses, all located within walking distance of Ringaskiddy village centre.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley said:

"Cork County Council is delighted to announce the launch of this Cost Rental Scheme in Ringaskiddy. The development at Warrens Court offers high-quality homes for rent in an exclusive development within walking distance to the village centre. These Cost Rental homes are an important part of the Council's ambitious plans as set out under the Government's 'Delivering Home, Building Communities' national housing plan By delivering homes at below-market rents, we can support sustainable growth in the community."

Applications will be accepted between 12 noon on 29 June and 12 noon on 13 July 2026 via the online application portal at corkcoco.ie. Homes will be allocated on a lottery basis to eligible applicants who have submitted all required documentation, with renters entering a tenancy arrangement with Cork County Council.
