Cork City FC supporters will have the chance to help fight food poverty this weekend when the club partners with Feed Cork for a collection drive at Saturday's final home game of the season against Derry City at Turner's Cross.

Fans heading to the match on 1 November are encouraged to bring tins of non-perishable food, which can be donated at designated collection points around the stadium. The initiative comes as Feed Cork continues its work supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity across the city.

Feed Cork partners with local organisations to provide three-day supplies of nutritional food to those in need. The charity has become an essential support network for Cork families struggling to make ends meet, particularly during challenging economic times.

Erika NΓ Thuama, Community and Academy Coordinator with Cork City FC, said:

"We are very pleased to be partnering with Feed Cork once again. They are doing some fabulous work in the local community and we are only too happy to row in behind them and support what they are doing. As it is our final home game of the season, it is an ideal time for people to donate, and we would encourage as many people as possible to do so, if they can."

Hamp Sirmans, speaking on behalf of Feed Cork, added:

"Feed Cork is delighted to team up with Cork City FC to raise awareness and fight food insecurity in Cork City. Every tin of food will help local families finding it hard at this time of year to make ends meet. Let's do all we can to support our city. Up the Rebel Army and down with hunger."

The food drive represents another example of Cork City FC's commitment to community engagement, with the club regularly supporting local causes throughout the season. Saturday's match offers supporters a simple way to contribute to an important cause while backing their team in the final home fixture of the campaign.
