Cork City Council Launches Largest Ever Footpath Repair Programme
Cork City Council launches its largest ever footpath repair programme alongside major road upgrades in Lehenaghmore.
Cork City Council has announced that 2025 marks its most ambitious footpath repair effort to date, alongside the start of a major road improvement scheme in one of the city's fastest growing areas.
The council says this year's footpath repair programme is the largest ever undertaken in Cork City, with works designed to improve safety, accessibility, and the overall appearance of streets across the city.
Construction has also commenced on the Lehenaghmore Road Improvement Scheme, an 18-month project that will deliver new roads, footpaths, upgraded cycle lanes, and enhanced public transport links to the rapidly developing area in the city's south.
The council says the scheme will transform connectivity in Lehenaghmore, making it easier and safer for residents to get around whether on foot, by bike, or using public transport.
