Cork City Community Safety Day - 21 April 2026

Cork City is set to host its first-ever Community Safety Day next month, bringing together residents, community organisations, local businesses, young people, Cork City Council, and An Garda Síochána for a free afternoon event focused on safety and wellbeing across the city.

The event takes place on Tuesday, 21 April, from 4pm to 7pm in the Millennium Hall at Cork City Hall, and is being organised by Cork City Local Community Safety Partnership.

Attendees will hear from a range of expert speakers on topics including safety after dark, domestic violence prevention and supports, online fraud awareness, and crime prevention initiatives, with a focus on practical tools and collaborative approaches already making a difference in Cork communities.

Community Safety Day will also feature a public consultation, giving residents the opportunity to have their say in shaping the first-ever Cork City Local Safety Plan (2026–2029), which will set out a shared vision and coordinated actions to improve safety and quality of life across the city.

A panel discussion will explore how residents can work alongside Gardaí, community groups, businesses, and local authorities to tackle local challenges and strengthen the sense of safety in their neighbourhoods, with audience participation invited.

The event is free but ticketed. Light refreshments will be served. To register, visit the Eventbrite page, go to www.corkcity.ie/communitysafety, email communitysafety@corkcity.ie, or phone 021 4924000.
