Cork Children Invited to Deck City Bus Stops for Christmas

Cork City Council has launched its annual Corkmas competition, giving young artists the chance to see their festive creations displayed on bus stops across the city this Christmas.

The popular "Deck the Bus Stops" competition returns for another year, offering children the opportunity to have their artwork featured on Cork's bus stops throughout the Christmas period.

Parents and children can collect templates from any Cork City Library to get started on their Christmas masterpieces. The competition is divided into three age categories: 4-6 years, 7-8 years, and 9-11 years.

Children aged 4-6 will be provided with templates of iconic Cork landmarks to colour in, whilst older participants can draw their favourite Christmas character or colour in famous Cork Christmas landmarks.

The competition captures the community spirit that makes Cork's Christmas celebrations special, transforming ordinary bus stops into galleries showcasing local young talent.

All completed templates must be returned to Cork City Libraries by the closing date of 8 October 2025 to be considered for the competition.

Libraries across the city have templates available for collection, giving families plenty of time to create their entries for this popular annual competition.
