Cork Airport Welcomes New Twice-Weekly Aer Lingus Service to Prague
Cork Airport launches twice-weekly Aer Lingus flights to Prague, perfect for winter city breaks with fares from €59.99. Geneva service starts December.

Cork travellers can now fly direct to the Czech capital as Aer Lingus launches a new twice-weekly service to Prague, operating every Thursday and Sunday through March 2026. The route, which departed for the first time this morning, is the first of two new winter services from Cork Airport, with Geneva flights starting in December.
The inaugural Aer Lingus flight EI832 departed Cork Airport shortly after 08:00 today, carrying a full complement of passengers bound for Václav Havel Airport Prague. To mark the occasion, passengers at the boarding gate were treated to Fidorka, a traditional Czech chocolate wafer snack, whilst the celebration was attended by H.E. Pavel Vošalík, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ireland, and Katarina Hobbs, Director of CzechTourism UK and Ireland.
Prague, known as the City of a Hundred Spires, offers visitors historic landmarks including the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and the 15th-century Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square. During winter months, the city transforms into a festive destination with Christmas markets in Wenceslas Square and the Old Town selling traditional Czech crafts, mulled wine and seasonal treats. The city is also renowned for its cultural venues, including the National Theatre, the Rudolfinum and the State Opera.
Tara Finn, Head of Aviation Business Development and Communications at Cork Airport, said:
"Prague is a truly magical city, especially in the wintertime and we're delighted to have worked with Aer Lingus to establish this new service, connecting another European capital city. The new twice-weekly service is a fantastic option for weekend city breaks and we're confident it will be a huge hit with our customers across Munster and South Leinster."
H.E. Pavel Vošalík, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ireland, said:
"They say that Irish and Czechs share a similar sense of humour. This new direct flight allows us to be again a bit closer to each other. Let's write our new stories. Let's enjoy the various cultural and leisure activities both countries offer and make new friendships: from Czech music festival Colours of Ostrava to walks in beautiful Irish countryside, from Cork Film Festival to film festival in Karlovy Vary, from picturesque streets of Cork to medieval historical sites of Prague, from Guinness to Pilsner Urquell."
Katarína Hobbs, Director of CzechTourism UK and Ireland, added:
"This new direct flight from Cork to Prague is so convenient and a fantastic opportunity for Irish holidaymakers. They can now easily explore Prague's beautiful capital, rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture. But the adventure doesn't have to end in Prague! The city offers excellent transport links, making it easy for our Irish friends to venture beyond the usual tourist spots and discover hidden gems across the country."
Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus, added:
"Aer Lingus' new route from Cork to Prague opens the door to one of Europe's most enchanting winter destinations for our customers across Cork and Munster. Prague is renowned for its breathtaking architecture, vibrant culture, and magical festive atmosphere, especially during the winter months. We're thrilled to see such strong demand for this new service from the outset."
The Prague service operates every Thursday and Sunday, with flights departing Cork at 13:45 and arriving at 17:20 local time. Return flights depart Prague at 18:00, arriving back in Cork at 19:50. Fares start at €59.99 one way including taxes and charges.
The Prague route is the first of two new Aer Lingus services from Cork Airport this winter, with a weekly service to Geneva commencing on 20 December 2025.
