Cork Airport Backs Cork City Sports International Athletics Meet
Cork Airport backs Cork City Sports' 72nd international athletics meet this evening at MTU Arena, with athletes from over 30 countries competing.
Cork City Sports is hosting its 72nd annual international athletics meet this evening at MTU Athletics Arena, supported by Cork Airport's Community Fund. Athletes from more than 30 countries have travelled to Cork for the event, one of Ireland's longest-running athletics meetings.
The meet holds Bronze status and is a fixture on the World Athletics Continental Tour calendar. Field events begin at 17:30 with the Men's Pole Vault, while the track programme gets underway at 17:40 with the Men's Open 3000m.
Frank Walley, President, Cork City Sports, acknowledged the airport's support:

Cork Airport's Community Fund supports local arts, culture, education, tourism and sports initiatives across the region, with a range of clubs, festivals and organisations backed as part of the 2026 programme.
