Community Services Programme Open Call Launched in Cork City
Minister Jerry Buttimer has launched an open call for the Community Services Programme. Applications close 8 May 2026.
Minister of State Jerry Buttimer TD has announced an Open Call for Applications under the Community Services Programme (CSP), with the launch taking place at Meitheal Mara in Cork City today, Monday, 30 March 2026.
The CSP currently supports 445 community-based services across 426 organisations nationwide, providing funding towards staff costs in social enterprises and community groups serving disadvantaged areas.
Minister Buttimer said:
"I am delighted to launch this Call for Applications under the Community Services Programme. The CSP Programme is designed to deliver employment opportunities to disadvantaged areas and empower social enterprises and community organisations to address and respond to the needs of those most marginalised within their localities."
Fulfilling a commitment in the Programme for Government, the call opens the programme to new entrants. Organisations that secure a place will receive a funding contribution towards Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions and, where warranted, manager posts.
The Minister added:
"The CSP Programme plays a vital role in supporting a wide range of services, facilities and activities that enhance the quality of life for specific disadvantaged groups within our communities. This Open Call will be essential in expanding those supports by bringing new organisations and services onto the programme."
Meitheal Mara Chairperson Marianne Keane welcomed the announcement:
"The Community Services Programme has been central to everything we do at Meitheal Mara β supporting jobs, skills, and inclusion in our community. We're proud to welcome the Minister and to share how this investment is making a real difference on the ground."
Pobal will support organisations interested in making a preliminary application from today until the closing date of 8 May 2026. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to submit a full application to Pobal by 28 August 2026.
Information events for applicants will be held during the week beginning 27 July 2026. Details will be published on the Pobal CSP webpage and on the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht's website and social media channels.
As of February 2026, the programme supports 350 manager positions and 1,718 FTE posts. The current CSP programme runs from January 2023 to December 2027 and is administered by Pobal on behalf of the Department.
