The Mayor of Cork County switched on the Christmas tree lights at County Hall, joined by pupils from Gaelscoil Choráin in Youghal who filled the atrium with carol singing and festive songs.

Mayor Cllr Mary Linehan Foley and Cork County Council Chief Executive Moira Murrell welcomed 1st and 4th Class pupils from the Youghal gaelscoil to the annual Christmas celebration in the spacious County Hall atrium.

The children performed carols and festive songs as part of the traditional event, which takes place each year to celebrate Christmas with the children of the County of Cork.

The Christmas tree will remain on display in the County Hall foyer into the New Year.
