Children's Board Book Recalled Over Choking Risk
Board book recalled over choking risk: wings on the final page of 'I Spy a Fly!' may detach. Sold via Aldi, TK Maxx and Mulveys House of Gifts.
A children's board book sold through Aldi, TK Maxx and Mulveys House of Gifts is being recalled over a choking hazard risk to young children.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has published a recall notice for the Groovy Baby "I Spy a Fly!" board book, recalled by Make-Believe Ideas Ltd (MBI). The wings attached to the fly on the final page of the book may in some instances detach when pulled, posing a potential choking hazard.
Approximately 1,433 of the affected books were sold in the Republic of Ireland through ALDI Ireland, TK Maxx and Mulveys House of Gifts in Leitrim. The affected copies carry the ISBN13 numbers 9781836422600 and 9788384253960, printed on the back cover just above the barcode.
Parents and carers who have the book are asked to stop using it immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
MBI is asking customers to pull the wings off the final page, cut each wing into four pieces, and dispose of them in a bin that is inaccessible to children, then send a photograph of this to MBI. A refund will be offered once this confirmation is received. Further information and refund details are available on MBI's recall page, or by emailing ispy@makebelieveideas.com.
Customers who bought the book in TK Maxx can instead return it to any TK Maxx store, or contact TK Maxx on 01 2476126 or customerservice@tjxeurope.com.
