CCPC Issues Safety Notice Over Electrocution Risk With Eclipse Circulating Pump
CCPC safety notice: Eclipse/Embrass Peerless circulating pump (CFA 25-50-130) may have reversed wiring, risking electrocution.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a safety notice for the Eclipse / Embrass Peerless Universal Circulating Pump, used in heating systems, after identifying that the mains electrical coupling to the pump can be connected in reverse, which can pose a serious risk of electrocution.
The notice was published on 31 August 2026.
The affected pump carries the brand name Eclipse (Embrass Peerless for use in heating systems). The model is CFA 25-50-130, and the affected product code is 490920.
At this time, there are 1,728 confirmed affected pumps in the Republic of Ireland; however, this figure may increase as investigations continue.
An installed pump can remain in operation, but consumers must take care not to handle affected pumps, as there is a serious risk of electrocution. Consumers who have the affected model installed, and where the unit is working properly, can continue to safely use their heating systems.
The CCPC is working to ensure an appropriate corrective action is implemented for Irish consumers and will provide an update as soon as possible.
