Carrigaline Water Main Burst: Supply Disruption Expected Until 7:30pm

Uisce Éireann is working to repair a significant burst water main in Carrigaline, County Cork, which occurred earlier this morning. The repair is described as complex due to the location of the burst and traffic volumes in the town.

Traffic management measures have been put in place to allow the crew to carry out the repair safely.

Repair works are expected to be completed by 7:30pm this evening. However, it typically takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers, and it may take longer for those at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

The following areas are impacted by water supply disruptions: The Carrigaline Court Hotel, Kilmoney Woods, Kilmoney Road Upper, Lower Clevedon, Mountain Road, Station Road, West Avenue, and Maurland.

Michael Bell said:

"We understand the disruption a large burst like this can cause and we are working to repair the water main as quickly as possible, while prioritising the safety of the public and our crew. Due to flooding and debris at the site, traffic management and diversions are required to allow the repair to be carried out safely. We thank the community for their patience and understanding while this work is ongoing."
