Ballydehob's recreational facilities have received a significant boost, with Cork County Council completing upgrade works at the village's tennis courts, Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), and playground.

The works at the tennis courts and MUGA were delivered with support from the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht under the CLÁR Programme. Improvements included drainage and groundworks, a new porous asphalt playing surface, line marking, new basketball hoops, and replacement perimeter fencing and gates, bringing the facilities up to modern standards.

Cork County Council also secured funding through the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to enhance the Ballydehob Playground, which is located adjacent to the village centre and serves as an important community amenity.

"This project has breathed new life into a vital public space in Ballydehob. This is a shining example of Cork County Council's commitment to community development, as these updated facilities will serve both locals and visitors of all ages."

The upgrades are expected to support active lifestyles for residents and visitors of all ages in the Ballydehob area.
