Ballinrea Road in Carrigaline to Close Nightly for Three Weeks
Ballinrea Road in Carrigaline closes nightly 7pm–6am from 4 to 22 May for ESB ducting and water mains works.
Cork County Council has announced a nightly road closure on the L2464 Ballinrea Road in Carrigaline to facilitate infrastructure works in the area.
The closure will be in place from 19:00 to 06:00 each night, from Monday, 4 May 2026 to Friday, 22 May 2026. The works are required to facilitate the installation of ESB ducting and the upgrading of water mains.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
- Traffic wishing to access locations north of the closed section should proceed westward along the L2473, turn right onto the R613, and continue westward to the junction with the L2463 (Glen Road).
- From there, traffic should turn right and proceed north, turning right onto the N27 (Airport Road), continuing north before turning right onto the R851 (Ballycurreen Road).
- Traffic should then proceed east, turning right onto the R851 (Frankfield Road), before turning right onto R851 (Donnybrook Hill) and proceeding south.
This diversion is also in place for southbound traffic wishing to access locations south of the closed section.
