B&Q Recalls Diall Site Connectors over Electric Shock and Fire Risks
B&Q has recalled Diall 16A site connectors over electric shock and fire risks. Check your batch code, unplug fully and return for a refund.
B&Q Ireland Limited has recalled two Diall site connector products over a risk of electric shock and fire. In some batches, the live and neutral connection markings are reversed, which makes the product unsafe.
The recall covers the Diall 16A Blue Site connector (Male), barcode 5052931116324, and the Diall 16A Blue Site surface socket (Female), barcode 5052931116331. Wiring the product incorrectly may present an electric shock risk or potential fire hazard.
The products were on sale online and in B&Q stores from March 2025 to August 2026. There are approximately 1,013 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
The affected batch codes are:
25W08 03, 25W12 03, 25W16 03, 25W23 01, 25W27 01, 25W32 03, 25W36 01, 25W40 01, 25W44 01, 25W48 01, 25W51 01, 25W53 01, 26W11 01, 26W15 01, 26W20 01, 26W24 01, 26W26 03, 26W28 01, 26W30 03 and 26W34 01.
Anyone who bought one of these products during that period should stop using it immediately and check the batch code against the list above. Turn off your mains and disconnect the product fully from the electricity supply. Switching it off at the wall is not sufficient; the plug must be removed from the socket.
If the product is permanently wired, isolate the circuit, turn off the power supply and arrange for it to be disconnected by a competent person. B&Q will reimburse reasonable, evidenced costs incurred for professional disconnection.
