Arrests Made Following Discovery of Body in Doneraile

Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with the death of a man in his 40s whose body was discovered at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The arrests took place on Monday morning, 13 October 2025, as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The two men, one aged in his 20s and the other a juvenile in his late teens, are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in Cork County.

The body of the deceased was discovered at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile, in the early hours of Sunday, 12 October 2025. Gardaí in Mallow immediately launched an investigation into all circumstances surrounding the death.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place at Cork University Hospital. The results of this examination will determine the future course of the investigation.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation, and an incident room has been established at Mallow Garda Station. A family liaison officer has also been assigned to provide support to the family of the deceased.

The Garda Technical Bureau attended the scene as part of the initial investigation.

Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of Doneraile village on Sunday morning between midnight and 2am. They are particularly seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from that time period.
