Our Journey

2013

Our roots can be traced back to a humble Facebook page called "Cork Potholes," created with the aim of highlighting the state of local roads in Cork. The overwhelming response from the community led us to expand our scope and rebrand to Cork Road Safety in late 2013.

2014

We evolved into Cork Safety Alerts. During the winter storms of 2013 and 2014, we became one of the largest groups on Facebook, posting crucial updates on traffic disruptions and flooding in both the county and city of Cork.

2023

Relaunched our iOS mobile application on 30th March 2023, bringing our community back to mobile with enhanced features and real-time notifications.

How We Operate

We encourage members of the public to be our eyes and ears on the ground. You can submit 'incident reports' through mobile apps, our social media channels—Facebook, Twitter, Instagram—or directly via our website or freephone number. Your contributions enable us to provide quick and efficient communication and publication of vital information.

Our Mobile App

In 2014, we launched mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign. Although the apps were discontinued due to funding constraints, we're thrilled to announce the re-launch of our iOS app as of 30th March 2023.

The app is designed to keep you up-to-date with the latest local news, traffic updates, weather warnings, and community alerts in Cork.

Accolades

We're honoured to have been nominated in the Cork Chamber 2020 Digital Marketing Awards under the category 'Best Use of Digital Marketing for the Greater Good.' We were also nominated in the same category in 2018 and 2019, a testament to our commitment to serving the community.
